Great article as usual. This article clears the ground on so many levels. Recently, I quietly nudged 2 people towards twitter community. I told them the benefits of Twitter datafam but also told them not to get overwhelmed and look at it from the point of learning and self-improvement. But I won’t lie here, that there have been many instances where I felt like disengaging and have also observed many people quietly move out. My visuals are (weird) different and many times I felt the undercurrent that sowed the seed of disengaging. The words that made me stick came from you and Kevin Flerlage; I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude for this. Had I not had a conversation with you both (along with some push from my husband), I would have exited long back. I’m making a comeback in the corporate world tomorrow with a job (where I get an opportunity to work with Tableau, which I love doing) after a long break due to health and motherhood and the reason is solely because of my decision to stick to the community and learn.

Moreover, one like from Toan Hoang, C J Mayes, Kevin Flerlage because I thanked them for their tutorials/feedback is enough to make my day, even though I know my visuals will not be accepted by large. I totally agree with you that it’s good to reach out to people you respect, appreciate and admire in the community and gradually I'm trying to do that. I also try to ensure that I like and appreciate visuals of newcomers as much as I can. I believe just few visuals do not define one’s capabilities.
